Trained Combatant Style

Even when not armed with a lightsaber, Jedi are formidable foes in combat. Jedi and other trained combatants can engage in unarmed combat without knowing specialized combat styles. This style models their training and expertise with a broad array of weapons and unarmed combat techniques.

Weapons: As always, this style is limited by the weapon you use. The rings of attack that can be used be a combatant are limited by the weapon the combatant uses (unless special cases apply, such as a combat style explicitly allowing a wider attack). So, for example, a Jedi using a blaster will be limited to a single ring, unless he knows a combat style that specifically states otherwise. See Non-saber Combat for a listing of weapon types.

Unarmed Combat: Of special notes is the unarmed use of this style: when unarmed, a combatant can attack at most a number of rings equal to the number of defence rings needed to wound him. So for example, a jedi can attack at most three rings, an operative might attack at two rings and a normal civilian can attack at most one.

  • One-ring unarmed attacks are piercing.
  • Two-ring unarmed attacks are cutting + piercing.
  • Three-ring unarmed attacks are slashing + cutting + piercing.
